Healthy Flying
Smoking on Board
All flights operated by Condor, SunExpress and Lufthansa are non-smoking flights.
Please understand that this is in response to our customers' wishes for a nicotine-free environment on the aircraft.

Defibrillators
About 130,000 people die of sudden cardiac arrest in Germany each year. The entire Condor fleet has been equipped with defibrillators so that we can provide the best possible response if such an emergency occurs on the plane.
The defibrillator, also known as an AED (automated external defibrillator), automatically checks a person's heart rhythm. If it recognizes life-threatening ventricular fibrillation, it advises the rescuer when an electric shock is needed, which the rescuer triggers with the push of a button. People have a good chance of survival if they are reanimated within three minutes. Condor cabin crew members have been taught how to use AEDs in regular training courses.

Disinsection on Board
Several countries' health authorities require all airlines to spray the cabin with "Standard Reference Aerosol" (SRA), designated as non-hazardous by the WHO (World Health Organization), before or after landing.
The active ingredient of this substance is natural pyrethrum, a chrysanthemum extract that breaks down within few hours. This measure is intended to prevent animal or plant diseases from being brought into the country. The following countries require the cabin to be disinsected:
Barbados, Cuba, India, Jamaica, Mauritius, Maldives, Mexico, Seychelles and Trinidad/Tobago.

Health Care
Please find out which immunizations and vaccinations and other preventive measures are required in plenty of time before traveling. You should also ask your doctor about thrombosis and other health risks if you aren't sure. You can find general information from public health agencies, from doctors who specialize in travel-related health and disease issues (emporiatrics) or in tropical medicine, from travelers' health information services or from the German Federal Center for Health Education.
